Red cotton (Gossypium barbadense, Redi katun) is a medicinal herb and comes from a shrub. There is evidence that this plant was already cultivated 8000 years before Christ in what is now Peru. It is a plant whose cotton is used by indigenous people to weave hammocks, for example. Parts of this plant are used for its healing qualities.
Red cotton is a remedy for prostate, bladder, uterus and kidney disorders. It is also an excellent remedy for menstrual pains, urinary tract infections (cleanses bladder and urinary tract) and helps the body to diuretise (expel fluid).
It is a traditional natural remedy for uterine infections. In case of genital itching, vaginal discharge or gonorrhea, one can wash oneself with an infusion of the red cotton plant.
After childbirth, steam baths with this herb are prepared to cleanse the vagina and uterus.
To cleanse the uterus after your period, it is advisable to start drinking red cotton tea from the last day of your period (use it 3 days in a row).
Recommendation: Do not use during pregnancy
